Youth Research Panel

Your voice shapes decisions that affect young Australians

Young people have opinions, ideas and experiences that matter — but they don't always get heard in the research that shapes government and other policies, services and products that affect their lives.

The ORIMA Youth Research Panel exists to change that.

By joining, you become part of a group of young Australians that ORIMA Research draws on for paid research projects. When a project matches your profile, you'll be invited to take part in a group discussion or interview on a topic relevant to young people's lives.

Participants are paid a thank you payment at the end of each session.

You can say yes or no to each one. There's no commitment, no pressure, and no minimum participation.

We are a research organisation, not a sales or marketing company. Nothing you share will ever be used to contact you with offers or promotions — by us or anyone else.

This registration form takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Parents and young people aged 16 and over can register using this form. If you are aged 15 or under, a parent or guardian will need to complete this form on your behalf.

KEY FACTS

What kind of research?

Group discussions, individual interviews or paired conversations — in person at research facilities or community venues across Australia, and occasionally online.

Sessions typically run 1-2 hours. Topics range across health, education, technology, sport, media and more.

Where and how often?

If you match the profile we need, you'll be invited to sessions near you — via your parent or guardian if you're under 18. Sometimes we'll need to ask you additional questions to ensure you're a match.

There's no minimum commitment: each invitation is a separate decision. We'll never pressure you to participate.

Will I be paid?

Yes. Every participant receives a thank you payment at the end of each session, in cash or e-gift card. Rates vary by project and session length, but are typically between $50-$150.

You'll always know the rate before you agree to participate.

Is it safe and ethical?

Yes — and we take this seriously. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles and the Research Society's Code of Professional Behaviour. All staff hold current Working With Children Checks.

For younger participants, a parent or guardian is present in or near the room during every session.
